Primarily I paint with acrylics and watercolours but I have a true love of drawing both in ink and colour pencils. The medium I am most enjoying and exploring is painting with acrylic inks on birch panels.  I had played with using watecolours on wood and loved the results but was very nervous when it came to protecting the surface. So, experimenting with acrylic inks as my watercolour paint replacement has given me the same beautiful and somewhat uncontrolled bleed and flow while being a safer and more permanent medium on wood.  And going further with that, I have also been playing with colour pencil drawing on wood and then over painting with acrylic inks – and really loving the process and results of that too.  I’ve taken the end of 2018 through to now to really creatively explore both within and without. The following is what has resulted so far.
